What is a Chiropractor?

Chiropractic literally means “done by hand” and is a natural, drug-free approach to health care.

The following conditions represent some of the most common reasons patients seek chiropractic care:

A Chiropractor is primarily concerned with the spine and nervous system, and how well these systems are functioning. Evaluating the biomechanics of the spine is essential to ensure that each individual vertebra is moving freely. When a vertebra becomes “stuck” or restricted, it can irritate nearby spinal nerves through pressure or indirect stimulation, which may lead to pain, reduced movement, or dysfunction elsewhere in the body.

Chiropractic care is widely used to help manage nerve-, muscle-, and joint-related conditions. These problems may include headaches, neck pain, whiplash, shoulder, arm and elbow pain, as well as pain that radiates into the hands. Mid-back and lower-back pain, leg pain, sciatica, knee pain and foot problems are also commonly treated.

Whether your condition is degenerative in nature or related to an accident or sports injury, Dr Alexandra Parker has been trained using modern diagnostic and treatment techniques to accurately assess and manage your condition.
