Need Some Assistance?
At Manors Chiropractic, in Pinetown, every new patient will have a history taken, examination done and then a treatment. Follow up treatments involve a reassessment and treatment. Some patients only need a once off treatment and others require a few treatments to get better. This, however is very patient and condition specific.
Treatment can include one or many different procedures depending on the patient’s specific condition.
Some of the treatment procedures used to ensure the best outcome for the patient include, but are not restricted to, soft tissue treatments, Transeva, dry needling, TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation), therapeutic ultrasound, IFC (Interferential current therapy) and of course the chiropractic manipulation. X-rays are sometimes required, and we can refer for these as needed.
Apart from chiropractic treatment educating the patient on the importance of diet, exercise and general wellbeing to ensure quality of life is also important. At Manors Chiropractic, Pinetown, different techniques are used to ensure the best outcome for the patient. And each treatment is patient specific.

What is a Chiropractor?
Chiropractic literally means "done by hand" and is a natural, drug free approach to health.
A Chiropractor is mainly concerned with your spine and nervous system and how well these are functioning. Evaluation of the biomechanics of the spine is important to ensure that each one of the individual vertebrae are moving freely. Any “stuck” vertebrae can cause the spinal nerve at that level to become irritated through pressure or indirect stimulation.
Chiropractic care is known to treat and help most nerve, muscular or joint related problems. These problems can range from headaches, neck pain, whiplash, shoulder, arm or elbow pain, even pain into the hand. Mid back, low back pain, leg pain, sciatica, knee and foot problems.
Whether your problem is degenerative or related to an accident or sports injury, we have been trained using the latest techniques and technology to best diagnose and treat your pain. The folowing conditions represent some of the most common ailments our patients seek help for:
- Low Back Pain
- Herniated Discs
- Sprains / Strains
- Neck Pain
- Pinched Nerves
- Hip Pain
- Sports Injuries
- Knee Sprain / Strains
- Ankle Sprain / Strains
- TMJ Syndrome
- Shoulder Pain
- Rotator Cuff Injuries
- Carpal Tunnel
The feet are the foundation of your spine, supporting the entire weight of your spine. If there is incorrect support from your feet, stress can translate to other joints in the body resulting in or even exacerbating conditions such as low back, hip, knee and foot pain. Only Footlevelers Orthotics support all three arches of the feet that make up the Plantar Vault. Just as no two bodies are alike, no two pairs of Foot Levellers custom Orthotics are alike. With over 6 decades of proven performance, backed by over 37 clinical research studies (more than any Orthotic company in the world), used by Chiropractic Colleges worldwide; Foot Levelers Custom made orthotics are built specifically to meet your individual feet, body and health needs. Our 2D Optimal Foot Scanner will assess the health of all three arches of your feet (Plantar Vault) and the body assessment image will also assess imbalances from the feet that can lead to knee rotation, pelvic tilt and shoulder drop.

Dry needling is not acupuncture although the same needles are used because they are the only needles on the market which do not contain a bore (a hole in the needle to inject medicines, or draw out fluid). The term “dry” is used because no substance is injected into the muscle. In dry needling the trigger points are located within the irritable muscle and a needle is inserted into the trigger point in order to deactivate the active locations in a trigger point. Active myofascial trigger points result in pain and tenderness. These trigger points can prevent full lengthening of the muscle and weaken the muscle.

The Transeva machine is a modality that works by applying a low current electrical impulse to the body. This impulse, or Faradic wave, stimulates rhythmic muscle contraction in the patient, having a number of positive effects. Firstly, it increases blood flow to the area, bringing a large supply of oxygen and nourishment to the injured part. Secondly, Transeva is unique in that it stimulates the lymphatic system and thereby increases the return circulation of metabolic waste products at the same rate, therefore preventing congestion in the tissue which could slow healing time. With improved nourishment and more efficient waste removal, the muscle heals more rapidly.
Muscle injuries often have nerve injuries too. This can lead to muscle weakness with possible muscle wasting. Transeva Therapy’s action of muscle contraction simultaneously encourages nerve integration, thus preventing further wasting and allowing muscles that have already wasted to heal and return to normal faster and with less chance of re-injury.
Transeva Therapy breaks through adhesions and scarring which may start to form in the muscles, especially in the case of more chronic injuries. Adhesions and scarring can prevent the muscle from contracting fully or properly, which may lead to pain, further injury and of course decreased muscle strength.
Transeva is used in the treatment of:
· Muscle pain
· On-going injuries due to deep underlying scar tissue
· Muscle wasting, pins and needles, numbness
· Loss of movement
· Trapped nerve pain
· Speeds up recovery from an injury
· Sprains and strains
· Back spasms and chronic tension
